There are more reasons to smile when you visit Stumptown Park. The Town has completed improvements to Stumptown Park in time for Matthews Alive. Free Wi-Fi is now available at the park. The public will be able to access the Wi-Fi without any passwords needed.
If you are not able to attend activities in the park you can watch video from a newly installed webcam. Visit www.matthewsnc.gov and at the bottom left hand page click the webcam button to catch the action at the park. Windstream worked closely with the Town on both projects.
Additionally, the Town has installed a public restroom facility at Stumptown Park. The restrooms are adjacent to the park in the former Bradford Clinic.
“Stumptown Park is the heart of our downtown and we are excited to have Wi-Fi and live streaming video of the park available free to the public,” said Matthews Mayor Jim Taylor. “We know that people love having the ability to use Wi-Fi whether it is so they can work in a natural setting or just take care of personal business. We think everyone will be excited about the Wi-Fi and webcam access.”
“In recent public surveys the public had expressed the needs for bathrooms in our parks and with the number of events we have at Stumptown Park it was time for us to provide large, clean and safe restrooms for everyone,” he continued.
