Current and future business owners, town leaders and residents of Matthews are invited to attend the 2019 Business Summit: “Matthews Rising: Building Community = Supporting Business” on Friday, October 11 at the Matthews Sportsplex.
Matthews, NC – Current and future business owners, town leaders and residents of Matthews are invited to attend the 2019 Business Summit: “Matthews Rising: Building Community = Supporting Business” on Friday, October 11 at the Matthews Sportsplex.
Attendees of the 2019 Business Summit, presented by the town’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC), will learn more about the different services and initiatives available to help local businesses. These include the many programs and services available through the Mecklenburg County Office of Economic Development. Director Peter Zeiler and Charlotte Agenda reporter Katie Peralta will kick things off with an insightful conversation.
In addition, there will be a lively panel discussion with representatives of SCORE, the Small Business Administration (SBA), CPCC’s Small Business Center (SBC), the Matthews Chamber of Commerce, and various town departments. These subject experts will share information about what services their organizations can offer to help current small business owners, or those thinking about launching a business in Matthews.
Attendees will also learn how the Town of Matthews is working to support its existing businesses and encourage new businesses to consider Matthews as a viable location for startups. The event will conclude with an interactive Q & A session with the audience.
The Business Summit will be moderated by EDAC Vice-Chairperson Randy Mitchell, with VR Business Brokers.
“Matthews is an appealing place to live and we have a growing creative class of entrepreneurs and successful business owners here,” says Matthews Mayor Paul Bailey. “We have every reason to expect that growth to continue because more people are discovering the appeal of Matthews.”
The 2019 Business Summit is free to attend - and will be held from 11:15am to 1:00pm on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Matthews Sportsplex meeting room, 2425 Sports Parkway, Matthews. Pre-registration by Friday, October 4 is required since seating is limited.
